MI Sci PLN – Just wanted you to know about these two upcoming events at MSU’s CREATE, both at noon the week-after-next. Dr. Niral Shah is speaking on WED, 4/5, and I’m presenting on Thursday, 4/6. YAY! There are Zoom links for both events on the attached fliers.
Also, if you don’t receive these messages from CREATE, and would like to, please send a note to Sue Carpenter (carpen16); I’m sure she’d be delighted to add you to regular communication about events like these.
Please join us on Wednesday, April 5 for Dr. Niral Shah from the University of Washington (formerly from MSU). His talk is titled
"Racism is Permanent: So What Next for STEM Education?". He will meet with grads/postdocs from 1:45 – 2:30pm in the CREATE large conference room; no RSVP needed, just come as you are and feel free to bring your lunch. Niral will be eating then, as well.
Also, we have rescheduled Dr. Christie Morrison Thomas for Thursday, April 6 (previously planned for Feb. 22); this makes for a busy presentation week, but we didn’t want to miss out on Christie’s talk, and this was the best date. Her presentation is titled "Working with school districts (and teachers’ unions) to pursue a new normal for science classroom teaching and learning".
Both presentations are at noon in the CREATE seminar space, and as before, Zoom attendance is offered for those who can’t attend in person (please see announcements for info).
We hope to see you at one or both sessions! Please share widely – thanks!
